We are Able® to do

With the right protective equipment, no one should have to choose between their own safety and a calm environment for the people in their care. ABLE® makes it possible to do your job — fully and confidently.

What does "We are Able® to do" mean?

Staff in healthcare, social care, and education face situations every day in which clients or pupils may behave aggressively. The consequences are well known: sickness absence, staff turnover, stress, and physical injury. For many, the question is no longer whether they want to help — but whether they dare.

ABLE® changes that equation. With CE-marked protective equipment that is soft enough not to harm the person in front of you, but robust enough to protect you, you become Able to do — capable of doing what needs to be done.

With ABLE®, you are Able to…

Able® to stay close

Closeness is the foundation of good care. With ABLE®, you have the confidence to stay in the situation — physically and mentally. The padding absorbs blows, the foam absorbs bites, and you can focus on the person in front of you instead of on your own safety.

Able® to act calmly

Fear escalates situations. When you know you are protected, you can act more calmly, think more clearly, and make better decisions. That is good for you — and even better for the person in your care.

Able® to protect without harming

ABLE® products are soft and non-provocative. There is no risk of dental injury when someone bites into the padding. There is no intimidating equipment on display. The protection works both ways — for the wearer and for the person displaying challenging behaviour.

Able® to stay in the profession

Physical injury is one of the most common reasons staff leave health, social care, and education. With the right protective equipment, sickness absence falls and more people choose to stay. Experience cannot be replaced.

Able® to meet workplace safety obligations

Employers have a legal duty to protect their staff. ABLE® is CE-marked under EU Regulation 2016/425 and supports employers in meeting their occupational health and safety obligations.

Able® to prevent — not just react

A safety jacket worn throughout the shift; a sleeve already in place when the situation arises; a cushion within easy reach. ABLE® is preventative protection — not an emergency fix.

Our values

Soft protection. Hard reality.

We know what daily life looks like on a psychiatric ward, in a supported-living home, or in a special-needs school. ABLE® was developed by people with more than 20 years of experience in policing and the security industry — for the situations that staff actually face.

Three principles guide us

Respect.

Protective equipment should be discreet and non-provocative. The person in your care should never feel threatened by what you are wearing.

Function.

Our products have to work in real situations — not just on paper. That’s why we test them in martial arts training and in clinical settings.

Accessibility.

We offer on-site demonstrations and demo packs before you commit to a purchase. You should be able to feel the material and check the fit in your own working environment.

The products in practice

Psychiatric and inpatient care

The Safety Cushion is used for immediate protection in acute situations. The Sleeve provides discreet forearm protection. The Jacket gives full upper-body protection during physical interventions. All without any hard or visible equipment.

Supported-living homes and disability services

The Safety Sleeve is the most widely used product in Finnish supported-living settings. It protects the arms without intimidating the resident. Discreet, easy to put on, and machine-washable at 60 °C.

Special-needs schools and nurseries

Teachers and learning support assistants need protection that doesn’t feel threatening to the child. ABLE® is soft, non-provocative, and designed for environments where trust and respect are essential.

Elderly care and dementia units

People living with dementia can sometimes act unexpectedly aggressively. The Sleeve and Jacket provide discreet protection that can be worn throughout an entire shift.

In the home

Parents and family carers looking after children or young people with challenging behaviour have chosen ABLE® to make daily life at home safer.
